Over time, if we can merge the two databases, all the better. Possibly later today I'll make this more official and change the links in all of the navigation from the Cafe's modest TablEdit library to the link Larry already provided above. The rest of that time was my meddling in the look and feel a bit so it took on some of the Cafe's characteristics a bit more. I think that's more a reflection of Larry's database and programming skills than our server, though we have a very exceptional dedicated server and administrator, Dan Beimborn, and no sharing with other commercial sites, so we don't have hosts installing versions of programming tools that don't match our needs. Dan set up access for this on the server a couple of weeks ago and Larry had the database and programming tools up and fully functioning, including the critical administrative front end, with a minimal amount of effort. My thanks to Larry for the work he's done over the years maintaining this remarkable resource and for his exceptional programming skills in creating this.
#Removing rest in tabledit full#
Let’s bring the TablEdit site back to its full glory. If you have TablEdit transcription you have created ( nothing from a published source), please send them. I will also be adding more files, as time allows.

The new version contains updated files and new contents (not on the old site).

I talked with Scott and we are going to move forward with the release of the new TablEdit platform. That’s like having a Corvette in the garage, but no keys to drive it. It’s nice that it is back online, but it is back in an unmaintained state.

But the last update to the TablEdit files was one I had made in June, 2019. Today, I found that Mandozine is back online - again. Over the past couple of weeks, I recreated the search interface here on Mandolin Cafe: I had all the files and the code for the search site, since I was the author. When it didn’t look like Mandozine was coming back this time, I reached out to Scott at Mandolin Café about hosting the TablEdit files.

I don’t know what happened in 2020, but I recently saw a message in the Mandolin Café Forum that Mandozine was offline. The site went offline at the beginning of 2019, was restored by the summer of 2019. Mandozine was hosting a wonderful collection of TablEdit files for mandolin, but as you are probably aware it has not been reliable lately.
